Dear brides, we know that one way to have the wedding of your dreams without boring a hole in your pocket is by doing some things yourself. However, some things are not worth doing, yourself.
The problem with doing things you should not DIY for your wedding is that you might end up really stressed out. The rule of thumb is that if you can do it a few months before your wedding comfortably, then you can. If you have to do it a few days or weeks to the wedding, please leave it to the professionals.
Except it’s an emergency or you’re a professional, here are some things a bride shouldn’t do:
1. Hair and make-up
With YouTube videos making everything seem so easy, you might be sure you can handle your hair and make-up on your big day. We think not. There’s no need for you to risk a bad hair day or a constantly falling eyelash on such an important day.
The fact that decorations are usually done a day before the wedding or on the wedding morning is what makes it a no-no. If you’re having a small wedding, however, and you have a knack for decorating, that could work if you start early with the help of family and/or friends.
If you’re a caterer, you’re probably wondering why you should go and pay someone when you can do it. Well, it’s different when you’re the bride. You can coordinate to some extent, but being fully in charge might have someone coming to tell you that “meat has finished” while you’re on the dance floor. Besides, you shouldn’t be sweating in the kitchen when you’re supposed to be getting glammed up.
Everyone has dream songs they would love to hear on their wedding day, and we totally support that. You should, however, give the songs to the DJ or live band to add to their playlists. Creating a playlist to play from your phone/flash to save cost is fun, but your taste will be limited to what you and your spouse love. A good DJ, on the other hand, will have a better variety and know when to change the tempo.
We know that finding the perfect wedding dress is a difficult task and it may seem like the dress doesn’t exist except in your head. Regardless of how many aso ebi dresses you’ve made, it’s better for you to buy or rent a dress, or have a professional make it. Let someone else execute your vision so you can chill.
We’re all for stress free weddings in 2019, so check out how to plan your wedding without breaking down.
