1. Squats

Squats are one of the best exercises that can be used to tone your thighs. To do a squat the right way, start by standing with your back flat against a wall and your feet slightly in front of the wall and one foot apart. Take a deep breath, and as you inhale your breath, lower your butt.  As your knees approach a 90 degree angle, exhale your breath, and push yourself back up to your starting position.

2. Leg Lifts

Leg Lifts are another great exercise that can are extremely effective for shaping and toning your thighs. Start by lying down on your right side on a yoga mat. Rest your right elbow on the ground, with your head resting in your hand. Take a few deep breaths and then use the muscles in your thighs to kick your right leg up towards the sky as high as possible. As you inhale, slowly lower it back down to the starting position.

3. Leg Extensions

Leg Extensions can also be used to tone your thighs. To perform this exercise, start by lying on your stomach on a mat. Make sure your legs are fully extended behind your body. Rest your arms by your sides, or extended out and away from your body. Use the muscles in your thighs to extend your legs up towards the sky then slowly lower your legs back to the floor.

4. Lunges

Lunges are very versatile and can be done anywhere. Also the effects can be seen very quickly.  To do a lunge, keep your upper body straight, with your shoulders back and relaxed and chin up. Step forward with one leg, lowering your hips until both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle. Make sure your front knee is directly above your ankle, not pushed out too far, and make sure your other knee doesn’t touch the floor. Keep the weight in your heels as you push back up to the starting position.

5. Walking

Walking is a fun exercise which will also help you tone your thighs. Start with walking slowly and gradually increase your pace and the amount of time you spend on each walk. Do this regularly and you’ll see a great difference in your thighs.
