Tracy Nwapa might not have the most formal job as an entrepreneur but she takes her workwear very seriously. From dresses with clean cuts to unique accents, she totally knows what works for her and she sticks to it but what we can’t get enough of is how she layers her pieces.
Layering is a way of wearing your garments on each other so they can match the need of every situation you need them for. Some fashionistas are big on this trick and they apply it almost everytime. However, Tray Nwapa is strategic about hers as has carved out her rule and she sticks solely to it.
For the interior decorator, her rule is to use a white button down as a base and layer pieces of different textures and styles over it. The reason she does this is because she wants the visible part of the shirt to serve a purpose. A scenario to buttress that is when she paired a white shirt with a sleeveless pinafore dress with a deep scoop neckline.
The shirt served two purposes; acted as a shield for her skin while still keeping the look as chic as ever. For other pairings, she likes to keep the fashion in details like the collar and sleeves.
We think this trick is a very cool one as it makes the look more fashionable yet serves as the means to getting more wears out of unlikely styles. That way, she can broaden her workwear choices which is exactly what she has done!
