The Grammys is music’s biggest annual award night and even though there was a lot of controversy surrounding the 61st edition, one constant feature of the show is the strong fashion game the celebrities always bring.
We can say for a fact that there wasn’t a lot of wow fashion moments at the 2019 Grammys. But there are a couple of black queens that didn’t disappoint. From pieces in statement hues to embellished accessories and hairstyles that unapologetically screams ‘black girl magic’, check out all the looks we really loved from last night!
Alicia Keys In Armani Privé
Alicia Keys hosted the 61st edition of The Grammys in five different outfits but the red Armani Privé dress she walked the red carpet in is definitely a stunner. The long sleeve dress with a plunging neckline was fired up with statement jewels and a back-slip ponytail. Let’s not even get into her popping skin!
Tracee Ellis Ross In Ralph & Russo Couture
The queen of bold hue monochrome delivered again in a green suit from Ralph & Russo with encrusted snake-shaped belt detail. She completed her look with matching drop earrings and lengthy cornrows.
Janelle Monae In Jean Paul Gaultier
Janelle always finds a way to put a twist on monochrome and she brought it in an SS ’19 Jean Paul Gaultier piece. She paired the piece with exaggerated shoulders with an embellished hat piece and black pumps.
H.E.R In Coach
The songstress who won the R&B album of the year award dazzled in a custom shiny jumpsuit from Coach inspired by their pre-fall 2019 collection.

Justine Skye In Roberto Cavalli
Justine Skye stays serving sauce with her melanin and she brought it to the red carpet in an encrusted sheer dress by Roberto Cavalli. She completed her look with freshly installed braids and a neutral face beat. A freaking lewk!
Chloe & Halle Bailey
The sister duo was in full maximalist mode in monochrome artsy pieces. Considering the fact that they were attending The Grammys for the first time, we’ll say they brought it.
