Paris fashion week 2019 is in full swing and we are excited to see all the breathtaking couture collections from the biggest designers around the world. What we are more excited to see though is Mayowa Nicholas shutting down shows!
After landing the biggest gig of her career at Victoria’s Secret fashion show 2018, Mayowa Nicholas doesn’t seem to be slowing down her row anytime soon. Haute Couture Spring/Summer is only the first women’s show of the year and she has already graced three runways. From Alexandre Vauthier to Maison Valentino and Balmain, the model is busy and booked!
For their spring 2019 couture, Alexandre Vauthier put on a show that has a contrast of masculine and feminine accents but with a hint of sexy. Mayowa’s monochrome look was a very chic and modern one. She rocked a mid-length pleat skirt with a white shirt that had a bow detail and a jacket. The look was completed with boots and dark shades.
Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of Valentino definitely put on a show. Pieces from the show include voluminous dresses with lace applications, feathery cape tops, and even hooded jackets and trousers. We love the wide range! Mayowa rocked a voluminous structural piece in a bloomy floral print and a see-through cape made out of matching appliques.
Olivier Rousteing‘s first couture show at fashion week will be one that is talked about for a long time. The designer played with colours, structure and well-detailed textures. Mayowa made a dramatic strut down the runway in an over-the-top piece with bow detail, volume sleeves, and a flowy cape. Accessories like shades, gloves, and a round globe-like purse took the look to a whole new level. We are still in awe!
We still can’t decide which look is our favourite and Paris fashion week 2019 is just getting started. If you want to check out more on the international model, catch up on her October 2018 Haper’s Bazaar feature here.
