Adire styles created to honour Nigeria’s heroic ladies! Nigerian womenswear brand, My Q Lady has unveiled its latest collection and it is making more than a fashion statement. The Roots collection has been specially curated to honour the women who fought for Nigeria’s independence and freedom and democracy.
To showcase the pieces the brand picked someone who is taking the Nigerian entertainment scene by the throat, is on everyone’s lips as the one to watch, and is also securing her spot as a style star; of course it’s Jemima Osunde.
Jemima oozes class and poise as she showcases the pieces made from adire (tie & dye). Each piece is unique and showcases a more modern side to the collection. The adire styles have remained true to the brand’s aesthetic with a mix of lace, beading and a burst of colour.
My Q Lady is celebrating; Mary OAlimotu Pelewura, Dora Akinyuli, Efunroye Tinubu & Emotan, Florence Nwapa. They are also celebrating Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Hajiya Gambo Sawaba, Hannah Dideolu Awolowo, Kudirat Abiola. Also mentioned are Madam Grace Soyinka, Margaret Ekpo, Mkezie, Moremi Ajasoro, Nwanseruma, Queen Amina, Queen Idia and Stella Adadevoh
We are excited about the modern twist the pieces has, which tells us we are bound to see these pieces on the red carpet soon.
