Three months after releasing “Lova Lova”, arguably her best 2018 feature track, Tiwa Savage has returned with what is possibly her final single for the year.
It goes without saying that Tiwa Savage has had a winning streak since the release of her critically-acclaimed 2017 EP, Sugarcane. Bringing that energy into 2018, she released some of the best features of the year and became the first woman to win MTV EMA’s ‘Best African Act’ award. Now, she is counting her blessings and toasting to success in her new single, “One”.
We’ve said it countless times that 2018 is her year and she acknowledges this fact on the Killer Tunes-produced track. Music has changed Tiwa’s life for good – thanks to her hard work and consistency, of course. After working tirelessly to become the number one Africa bad gyal, she is now creating music as a medium of artistic expression. This new direction showed in her first single of 2018, “Tiwa’s Vibe” and now, “One”.
Rendering most of the song’s introspective lyrics in Yoruba, she is telling us once again that she is number one, and we agree with her.
