It’s Flashback Friday and we’re taking it back to our favourite soap operas from the mid-2000s.
As at the time some of these soap operas aired on local stations, many of us were probably in secondary school. Therefore, many of us had to sneak around to catch episodes of these shows – not everyone’s parent’s let them watch.
Not only did the kissing scenes get to you, the shows were typically dramatic and suspense-filled. From Passions to Sunset Beach, here are 5 of our favourite shows from the mid-2000s.
Passions was really weird now that we think about it – remember the witch Tabitha, and her life doll, Timmy? Well, we’re sure your crush on Miguel totally made you forget about the weirdness.
2. When You’re Mine
Paloma and Diego’s love in the show was nothing short of a battlefield. While they struggled to be together, their family members and ‘village people’ spent the entire series trying to pull them apart.
3. Second Chance
This show was basically a Nollywood series made in Mexico! Salvador and his babe, Isabel were really gorgeous though!
4. Catalina and Sebastian
Imagine our surprise when we found that these two actors (Sergio Basanez and Silvia Navarro) from When You’re Mine were the lead actors in this show. The romance in this show was sweeter and less tumultuous, though.
5. Sunset Beach
AIT basically brought this show for their viewers after Passions suddenly stopped airing. The characters in the show were as equally evil as Passions – someone was inseminated with a Turkey Baster, ffs!
