Sade Adu will be blessing our ears pretty soon with a new album, eight years after the release of ‘Soldier of Love’.
Well known for her 1985 classic song, ‘Sweetest Taboo’ from the album, “Promise”, Sade typically keeps her fans waiting for up to a decade before dropping a new album. But this time, the wait is almost over!
Recently she recorded her first song in seven years, ‘Flower of the Universe’, the soundtrack for Ava DuVernay’s remake of “A Wrinkle in Time”.
Now, Sade’s new album will be released in the coming days according to her saxophonist and longtime member of her band, Stuart Matthewman. The musician in an interview with Rated R&B disclosed that the band are working towards the release of a new body of work to follow their 2010 album “Soldier of Love”.
According to him,
“We’re working on a new album.” Adding, “Sade Adu and company have a bunch of songs. When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it. “The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process,” he adds.
While there’s currently no date on the release of her seventh studio album, we’ll keep you posted as we know more. Meanwhile, listen to her latest song below.
