Rita Dominic is undoubtedly one of the best actresses in Nollywood. She has held down this forte by featuring in a number of award-winning movies over time.
Rita Dominic started her acting career in 1998 with the movie A Time to Kill. Twenty years in this industry is not that easy to come by as she has evolved from just being an actress to producing her own movies as well. As a fan of this amazing actress, there are a couple of movies you should identify her by. Here they are:
1. The Meeting:
In this self-produced movie, Rita played the character Clara Ikemba, an overzealous minister’s secretary. Her role earned her the ‘People’s Choice‘ Award at the 2015 Nollywood Week in addition to the ‘Best Lead Actress’ award at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
2. Finding Mercy:
Rita’s amazing performance in Finding Mercy won her the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award at 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards and a nomination in the ‘Best Kiss In A Movie’ category.
This Izu Ojukwu-produced movie set six years after the civil war follows a soldier implicated in the unsuccessful military coup and assassination of General Murtala Mohammed in 1976, and his heavily pregnant wife’s efforts at proving his innocence.
4. Mr and Mrs Chapter 2:
Mr and Mrs Chapter 2 is a sequel to the 2012 award-winning movie, Mr and Mrs. Just like the first movie, this one also focuses on the lives of Nigerian couples struggling to keep their marriages intact.
5. The Blindspot:
Rita Dominic is a married woman who struggles with fertility-related issues in this movie.
6. White Waters:
Rita Dominic acts alongside O.C Ukeje in this award-winning 2007 movie.
Here, Rita Dominic plays a married secondary school English teacher, Osarugue in the 80s who enters a forbidden relationship with another man, Azuwa, a crown prince of Benin Kingdom.
