There are a few things you can absolutely count on happening in your life: You’ll fall and scrape your knee, you’ll fall in love, you’ll embarrass yourself in front of your crush… And you’ll get period pimples!
This is guaranteed, unless you come from the same tribe as Wonder Woman. There are 5 quick, easy, and painless “spot” treatments you can try to drain the life right out of your period pimples.
While we’ve tried these remedies and have been pleased by the results, what works for us might not work for you. Still, it’s worth a try.
1. Dab a little lemon juice on it
The astringent properties in lemon juice will suck out some of the oil and shrink the blemish. Wash off after 10 minutes and you’re good to go.
2. Use an itsy bitsy smudge of lavender or tea tree essential oil
They’re great for a whole host of different things, and they will absolutely annihilate period pimple. Use one tiny drop of either oil on a Q-tip and rub it on the blemish. Leave on overnight.
Rub a slice of potato on them. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes, or all day. Zit = Zapped!
4. Pound an orange peel
Yep. That’s right. Take a small amount of orange peel, sprinkle some water on the pith-side and pound it with a (clean) hammer or meat tenderizer for 10 seconds. Rub the peel over the period pimple. Dassall!
5. Don’t Be a Vampire, Use Garlic!
We know, we know. It sounds really stinky but desperate times call for desperate measures and all that. And garlic is pretty wondrous when it comes to clearing away the period pimples. Peel a clove of garlic and then mush it up well with a fork. Apply the mush to your pimples and let it sit for 20 minutes.
If the pimples are taking too long to fade and you need to get an instant glow up, then learn how to cover them with makeup.
