Get Lighter Skin The Natural Way With These 2 Homemade Beauty Treatments

African skin is strong and beautiful, but sometimes even our gorgeous skin gets discoloured due to exposure to the sun and hyper-pigmentation. This makes it necessary to get lighter skin in the safest way possible to avoid causing further damage. Having regular breakouts can also leave behind scars which take time to erase but can be improved upon by getting lighter skin.

Lighter skin can be achieved naturally without using poisonous chemicals, yes it’s true, and here are two ways to improve your skin tone the natural way.

Paw-Paw and Honey mask

Paw-paw contains papain, an enzyme which lightens skin and decreases pigmentation. Papain has properties which will give you lighter skin and help to heal blemishes and acne scars. Honey also has healing properties and it will make your skin glow.

You’ll need:

1 small pawpaw slice

1 teaspoon honey

  1. Mash or blend the pawpaw pieces into a thick paste.
  2. Add the honey and mix well.
  3. Apply evenly on your face.
  4. Leave on for 15 minutes
  5. Wash off with warm water.

Apply this mask every night before bed for best results.

Honey and Lemon

Lemons contribute to lighter skin because they contain Vitamin C which reduces the appearance of dark spots. Lemons also remove dead cells from your skin to reveal a lighter tone. Honey will help to exfoliate and moisturize your skin.

You’ll need:

One lemon

2 tablespoons of honey

  1. Extract the juice from the lemon.
  2. Mix in the honey.
  3. Add a little water.
  4. Cleanse your face and apply with a cotton ball.
  5. Wash off after 10-15 minutes.
  6. Use coconut oil to moisturize.
