Has applying your mascara to achieve voluminous lashes ever given you tough time?
Sometimes, you just wish your could skip the whole process entirely and move on with your life. Or that you knew a few mascara hacks that could make the task easier.
Well, ZUMI to the rescue as always (kinda like your fairy godmother right) Hack away!
Hard/Dry Mascara And Clumps
If your mascara is all dried and clumped up, you can loosen hardened mascara by placing the tube in a cup of hot water for a minute or two. The liquid will fall to the bottom. A few drops of saline solution or eye drops to the bottle is a quick fix for dry mascara. Just insert your wand and swirl. Instead of pumping your mascara, just twirl before pulling out. It helps get rid of excess mascara that causes clumps. You can also get rid of excess mascara by wiping the wand on a tissue before you start. Alternatively, use a toothbrush to un-clump mascara.
Holding the brush horizontally and wiggling it back and forth will give you voluminous lashes, while holding it vertically and running the tip of the brush along the length of your lashes will leave you with a longer, more natural look.
Use translucent powder on lashes to make them thicker, about three times more volume. Between applying each coat of mascara, dip a cotton swab in baby powder and run across your lashes, focusing on the tips. The second coat will attach to the powder for a longer, fuller look.
Also, coat the back of your lashes with mascara for a thicker look. To grow your lashes, apply Vaseline to them using an old mascara wand.
First and Last
After you’ve primed your skin, apply a coat of mascara to open your eyes. Once you’ve finished your eye makeup then apply a second coat. After your overall makeup, assess to see if you need another finishing coat.
Mess Free Application
Place a business card behind your lashes to protect the lid while you apply mascara. This trick also helps to pull your lid up so as to get the mascara right to the base of your lashes. A spoon works well for this too. Use the bowl-side down on the lower lashes and bowl-side up on the upper lashes.
Whenever you are in a pinch, you can use a liner brush to run along the wand of your mascara and apply on your upper lash line for an eyeliner effect.
